How will my stimulus check affect my Social Security and Medicaid Eligbility?

Does the stimulus check count toward my monthly income?
Answer: No. The stimulus check does not count towards income for Supplement Security Income (SSI) recipients.

Do I have to quickly spend down my stimulus check?
Answer: No. Social Security Administration will exclude the stimulus checks from a SSI recipient’s resources for twelve (12) months.

Will the stimulus check affect my Medicaid eligibility?
Answer: No. Because the payment is not counted as income for Social Security, Medicaid will not count it as income. State Medicaid programs cannot impose eligibility requirements stricter than SSI requirements.

Do I have to pay back the money I get from my stimulus check?
Answer: No. The stimulus check is considered a tax rebate. It does not have to be paid back and is not considered taxable income.
