Wayne L. Maffei
Attorney Maffei is a partner of CJMM. Attorney Maffei’s practice focuses on personal injury law, civil litigation, and insurance defense.
His practice includes the representation of persons injured in motor vehicle and other accidents as well as individuals and corporations in business litigation. He currently serves as trial counsel for some of Wisconsin’s largest insurance companies in cases throughout central Wisconsin.
He obtained his undergraduate degree from Loyola University in Chicago and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He has lectured on various tort law topics and taught at the University of Wisconsin Law School Skills Clinic. He is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is a Diplomate of the Court Practice Institute. Attorney Maffei enjoys an AV rating, the highest rating possible, from Martindale-Hubbell, the world wide lawyer directory. He consistently is named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer by Law & Politics and the publisher of Milwaukee Magazine, a distinction awarded only to the top 5% of Wisconsin Lawyers as rated by other lawyers, judges and independent review and evaluation. He has also achieved Senior Fellow status in the Litigation Counsel of America, the Trial Lawyer Honorary Society.
Additionally, Attorney Maffei has been elected as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and the Wisconsin Chapter of ABOTA. A member of ABOTA demonstrates high personal character, honorable reputation and proficiency as a trial lawyer. Attorney Maffei is also a member of the Trial Law Institute and Diversity Law Institute.
Professionally, Attorney Maffei has served as President of the Sauk County Bar Association, President of Civil Trial Counsel of Wisconsin and Chair of the Wisconsin Lawyers Fund for Client Protection.
Attorney Maffei’s community activities include service as a board member and past President of the Baraboo Community Scholarship Corporation, Trustee of the Baraboo Library Board, and board member and Vice-President of the Baraboo Range Preservation Association. He is also a charter member and past president of the Baraboo Rotary Club.
